After a soft opening on June 12, Pasir Ris Mall at 7 Pasir Ris Central formally opened its doors on July 22 in widely awaited occasion. Notables like Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office Desmond Tan, and Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Sharael Taha celebrated the ceremonial opening.
Pasir Ris Mall has purposes beyond merely retail ones. From the food court Cantine by Kopitiam to a Cold Storage supermarket and even a MindChamps Preschool store, it provides a range of options with more than 150 retail businesses. Part of an ambitious integrated development project by Allgreen Properties and Kerry Properties, this mall also has the 487-unit condominium, Pasir Ris 8.
As Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean pointed out in his speech, the continuous regeneration plans for Pasir Ris, started back in 2017, depend on the mall and its surrounding conveniences. Among these plans are major enhancements including HDB’s Home Improvement Program across the original precinct in the area and lift replacements.
Pasir Ris Mall and its surrounds have much more fascinating changes ahead. A new polyclinic is expected to open by the end of 2024, therefore improving resident access to healthcare. The mall will link to a new bus interchange in 2025, forming part of the Pasir Ris Integrated Transport Hub incorporating the eventual Cross Island MRT Line. For residents, this improved connectivity will greatly ease their travel.

Looking ahead, the Town Plaza—a protected public area inside the mall—is scheduled for completion by 2026— The Central Greenway path, which will finally link the mall straight to Pasir Ris Park and the seashore, is another much awaited addition. Pasir Ris Mall will be furnished with end-of-trip amenities including bathing spaces and bicycle parking to assist in a better, more sustainable way of living.
Prominent chairman of Kuok Group and Allgreen Properties, Kuok Khoon Ean, boldly declared that sustainability was always first in mind when designing Pasir Ris Mall. The mall earns the esteemed BCA Green Mark Platinum Award by virtue of its energy-efficient building materials, sophisticated lighting systems, and tenant required green leases. As the BCA explains, green leases are agreements between landlords and tenants outlining environmental goals to guarantee sustainable management and building occupation.
This occasion unveiled a pillar for the future of the neighbourhood as much as the opening of a mall. With its modern amenities, wide range of stores, and strong emphasis on sustainability, the Pasir Ris Mall is poised to become a hive reflecting the revitalisation of Pasir Ris. The presence of prestigious visitors such Sharael Taha, Desmond Tan, Teo Chee Hean, and business executives like Kuok Khoon Ean and Calvin Tong underlined the relevance of this progress.
All things considered, Pasir Ris Mall represents development and a lighthouse of the future for the Pasir Ris neighbourhood rather than only a shopping centre. It’s evidence of the area’s dynamic change given ongoing improvements and the promise of more facilities to arrive.
